And so it begins……

After all the boring but very necessary, behind the scenes graft, the easy bit has started!

On the morning of Sunday 30 September we ignored the nasty forecast and met up in the car park on Harden Moor to break ground on the St Ives project.

And the Jedi winner is..

Well I was the lucky git who won a space on a Jedi training session with the Singletraction raffle. I entered mainly because of the prize as I am a sucker for bike related competitions so had no real idea what I had entered or won until I saw Tony pull my name out of his helmet. Just a quick update about some felling work starting on Monday 3rd September 2012.

The Red cycle route will be diverted at the disabled car park after Crosscliff view point. The diversion will follow the ‘Escape’ signs across to post 24. This work is expected to take a minimum of 4 weeks. Dalby Downhill will be closed for the duration of this work.

There will be other trail diversions due to felling works shortly but I will update you as this happens.Thanks.

Natural Descender, a skills day in t’ Dales.

In May I was lucky enough to win a skills day with new skills training/guiding start up Roots Riding. I was really chuffed at this, while I’ve never booked on a skills day before I’ve often considered it but just never quite got round to it. I suspect that’s a common story.

Their Natural Descender skills day would turn out to be pretty much tailor made for me, the riding I like, and the things I found/find challenging and love doing/want to do better. So with my trusty On-One in the car I got myself to Embsay Cragg one sunny morning, with a mild sense of trepidation, and only a small skills shopping list in my head to see what would happen.
